Role & Responsibilities

Game Designer/Product Manager for production cycle of Game

  • I worked as a Game Designer and a Product Manager on Monster trucks racing

  • As a Game designer I worked on the Gameplay, User progression, UI Design, Level design

  • As a Product manager I worked on Monetization, User progression, Pricing of IAP, Rate Us system

  • Gameplay:

  • Working on the physics engine with programmer to determine the feel and control of different vehicles

  • Work on the tweaking of different physics values so vehicles feel and act different

  • Balancing different physics aspect of the game to involve some fun element to it.

  • Create different basic templates for vehicle and an upgrade system

  • Each vehicle upgrade will have a different value so make sure that all upgrade values are different and have a different feel to them.

  • User progression:

  • Design a system for the user progression which included FTUE, Hint system etc

  • System also included “x” vehicle can cross “x” level at “x” upgrade value

  • Vehicle should unlock at “x” environment and “x” number of upgrades should be available.

  • Unlock and progression system for Levels and vehicles

  • Level Design

  • Defining the programmer what type of system I require to create levels in Unity 3D

  • Creating Levels in Unity 3d using the defined system

  • Defining the difficulty of levels as per progression

  • Placing Collectables and obstacle in the level as per progression and environment

  • Playtesting levels before submission to the QA and making required tweaks

  • Once QA has played the level making changes as per their feedback

  • Finalizing the levels so others can play.

  • Product Manager tasks:

  • Pricing for vehicles, levels and upgrades as per progression

  • IAP Pack design for player to buy bundles of IAP currency

  • Advertisement anchor points

  • Progression pricing in game currency: How much a vehicle should cost, how much for a level, Upgrade pricing for all the vehicles and upgrades

  • Rate us system design which deicides when a rate us pop up should appear

  • Creating IAP bundles for special sale and configuring packs

  • Make changes to the game as per data gathered from the users

  • Use the in-house data tools to determine the progression of player and make changes to the game as per the data acquired

​Live Ops:

  • Created a Live event system for the players after game released

  • A timed event system where player could play different races and compete on a leader board

  • Maintained and created multiple events for the game

  • Made changes to the pricing and maintained sale packages for the players

  • Created and tweaked parameters for the vehicle physics as per player feedback
